Samsung’s New Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 Tablets Specs, Price and release Date officially revealed

Making all rumors and anticipation true, Samsung officially unveiled its new range of Galaxy tab tablets, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and another 8.9 inch Android Honeycomb tablet. Since the teaser Image appeared online it’s almost sure that this Tablet would be thinner that recently launched iPad 2. iPad 2 was mostly welcomed with its design and the specs of the device, but excitingly Samsung has really challenged Apple iPad 2 with 2 incredibly thinnest Tablet and also specs.

The 8.9 is the worlds thinnest tablet now that measures 8.6 mm thick and 1.03 pounds weight whereas Apple iPad 2 has 8.8mm thickness. in a view Bothe 8.9 and 10.1 Galaxy Tabs looks extremely similar to each other though 10.1 weighs 1.31 pounds. The 10.1 was first unveiled at MWC  back in last month and the second appearance of this tablet is with a complete change of design especially with competitive thickness to iPad 2. The first iteration of Galaxy Tab 10.1 measured in at 246.2 x 170.4 x 10.9 mm and weighed 599g; this new, slimmer version is 256.6 x 172.9 x 8.6 mm and 595g.

10.1 Galaxy Tab and 8.9 feature 3-megapixel unit with autofocus and an LED flash (down from 8-megapixels on the previous version of 10.1) , the Tabs will pack 1GHz dual-core processors(it’s assumed Tegra 2 since all the Honeycomb tablets thus far have used NVIDIA’s silicon, but that’s unconfirmed at this point), The 8.9 will be available with 16GB of storage and a 6000mAH battery, and the 10.1 will come in both 16GB and 32GB varieties and with a 6860mAH cell. Both tablets are expected to give 10 hours of playback.

For connectivity both devices feature quadband UMTS/HSPA+ (950/900/1900/2100), WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 and the usual bevy of gyroscope, accelerometer, digital compass, ambient light sensor and GPS.

Samsung has also debuted it new TouchWiz UI that has been used over the Honeycomb,  and a Mini Apps Tray that’s particularly helpful for quickly launching apps, this Apps Tray hides on the bottom of the screen

According to Samsung, The WiFi 10.1 will be released on June 8th — the 16GB version will cost you $499 and the 32GB $599. The 8.9 is $469 and $569 for 16GB and 32GB, respectively.
