Sony to release VAIO Series Laptops with Chrome OS and Thunderbolt Technology?

According to a new report from Sony Insider Sony is preparing to launch an new Laptop pre-installed with Chrome OS as well as a “VAIO Hybrid PC” that defies any sort of meaningful explanation in just three words. This is addition to what it has already to make surprise, Sony is also believed to release PlayStation Tablet, dual-screen clamshell and sliding PC.

The Chrome OS device is reportedly designed the same way the Google Cr-48 with roughly same dimension and keyboard but  relatively smaller 11.6 inch screen, the device is also expected to feature following

Whereas Sony VAIO Hybrid PC is expected to features Intel’s Light Peak technology that is now known as Thunderbolt, Wireless Display, Core i7 Processor, HDMI output with 3D support and an internal SSD. The Battery is expected to last for 8 to 16.5 hours and weigh around 1013 kg.

Other feature you could expect with new Sony VAIO Hybrid is a Blue-ray burner, external graphics (by AMD) for gaming and multimedia.

Features like Bluetooth and GPS for Chrome OS based laptop will be enabled later on, so don’t expect those two rights at launch in summer of 2011.

Anyway, there hasn’t been any confirmation from Sony about these Devices and no Images of the device available. For now keep this info with you, when more details arrive we will surely let you know about it, so stay tuned till then.
