Light Touch Virtual Keyboard from Light Blue Optics info

The Light Touch is an interactive projector that not only projects and image right in front of you on a surface such as a table, but also turns that image into a touchscreen too. The Light Touch system uses a tiny, iPod sized laser projector to project an interactive image onto any surface.

In addition to the Qwerty Keyboard, it also display images like a small monitor display. Currently, the technology is WVGA resolution, but the images are auto focusing. The Light Touch is also WiFi and Bluetooth capable with 2GB of on board memory and a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB of additional memory.

The Light Touch by Light Blue Optics is essentially a mini projector that is capable of projecting images in HQ WVGA resolution as an 10.1” image. It is also coupled with an infrared sensor that allows it to receive feedback when the user touches the virtual screen projected on the table.

Light Touch has a Holographic Laser Projection technology inside which creates bright, high-quality video images in WVGA resolution. Integrated infrared sensors detect motion and turn the projected image into a 10.1? virtual touch screen, so the user can control the projector and interact with applications simply by touching the image.

The opportunities for Light Touch extend beyond consumer electronics and into retail spaces, the workplace and the home profoundly changing the way people interact with multimedia content and the built environment.  Light Touch has recently been named a CES Innovations Honoree in both the Media Player and Personal Electronics categories.

No word on price or availability but the Light Touch will be unveiled this week at CES in Las Vegas, so there will probably be more details forthcoming.
