Motorola Droid Bionic release date delaying until Summer to add more features

Three months after its unveiling, the Motorola Droid Bionic is still without a launch date or price. And now it appears that the handset won’t land at Verizon Wireless until the third quarter of this year. Rumors recently suggested that the Motorola Droid Bionic failed to comply with Verizon Wireless’ strict performance guidelines. That’s not unusual for any smartphone headed to The Network, it’s just that they never announce smartphones several months in advance.

Those who are looking forward to the device will need to wait until the end of summer to get their hands on the device. The device is least likely to get launched until August or perhaps even September. The Bionic was originally set to hit the store shelves in Q2 of 2011.

Verizon Wireless will be the carrier of the smartphone. A Motorola spokeswoman said, “Based on compelling feedback since [Consumer Electronics Show in January], we are incorporating several enhancements to make this an even better consumer experience.” The smartphone is going to operate on the 4G network from Verizon Wireless.

The speculation was considered as something disappointing as the device had given us an impressive show at the last edition of the CES. Exactly what changes are being made to the smartphone are unknown.
