Nokia E7 now available in Amazon for $649; offering Guarantee Accelerated Delivery

Nokia E7 is shipping unlocked and contract-free on right now. This landscape QWERTY smartphone can now be grabbed at the retailer for a cool $649. The Symbian^3 handset went up for pre-order last month.

Like the N8 it will feature a 4″ display with a 680MHz ARM 11 processor backed up by 256MB of RAM. It will also come with an 8mp rear-facing camera and VGA front-facing camera for video calling as well as 16GB of internal storage. The main differentiator for this handset will be the full slideout QWERTY making it slightly chunkier than the N8. Aimed at the high-end market with a price to match the E7 pales in comparison to the growing number of dual-core handsets out there which are noticeably cheaper.

The Nokia E7 runs Symbian^3 and packs a 4-inch AMOLED with ClearBlack Display technology, QWERTY slider, 16GB internal storage, quad-band GSM at 850/900/1800/1900MHz and also 3G 850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA. All this basically means that this smartphone will run on both AT&T and T-Mobile, something that should come in handy should the AT&T T-Mobile merger pull through.

The handset comes preloaded with applications such as Mail for Exchange, Quickoffice Dynamic Premium, Adobe PDF reader, F-Secure Anti-theft for Mobile and Ovi Maps with free GPS navigation.

Amazon’s offer of Guaranteed Accelerated Delivery dates on selected items in their stores is also applicable for this product when the option for One-day or Two-day Express shipping is chosen.

Amazon is currently the only retailer selling the device in the US and it seems highly unlikely that this one will ever be picked up by a carrier as the outlook for Symbian in the US looks bleak. That being said the Nokia C7 did launch with T-Mobile as the Astound last month but Symbian devices in the states are still few and far between.

These are all signs that Symbian isn’t dead, at least not yet, and there’s a press event scheduled for next week about the latest developments with the platform.  if you want to read complete review of Nokia E7 Smartphone, just click here
