Samsung GALAXY S II spotted in South Korea with NFC Payment System
Near Field Communications is getting more relevant and nowdays you could see that Google is pushing hard NFC across the state. NFC capability of a Smartphone lets users to make payment very easily since we always carry phones with us, so no needs of Credit Card.
In South Korea KT has announced the first NFC payment system that will be available for users, for NFC capability called Olleh Touch from KT requires app that will only be offered on the Galaxy S II for now. so for time being the NFC System will only be available for Samsung Galaxy S II Users. a grocery store chain called Lotte Mart has announced that it has a new NFC payment system that will also offer discounts to the users that are good for up to 19,000 won in savings over the year.
The payment system launched by KT is called olleh touch and the app stores the credit card details and the membership card. The NFC system used by KT operates on 13.56MHz frequency and it can shoot data across a gap of about 10cm.
