Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play on Sale in Various Market Worldwide; Release in UK reportedly to be delayed

One of the Most awaited Smartphone Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play  the first PlayStation certified Smartphone is finally available for Purchase in Many Market worldwide. The Phone is now available on sale in The UK, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. and over the Next Two weeks the device will be available on further 6 Markets.

The XPERIA Play is coming with a More than 60 Games from various leading companies including Sony Computer Entertainment, Gameloft, Electronic Arts and Glu Mobile. The PlayStation Phone will also access original PlayStation titles. A number of Playstation 1 games have been added to the Android Market and will be available to XPERIA Play owners only.

According to Sony Ericsson, the XPERIA Play will be available in US via Verizon in this spring as announced in MWC 2011 back in February.

Meanwhile release of XPERIA Play in UK is reportedly to be delayed , mobile service providers Vodafone and 3 reportedly delaying their launch of the gaming phone entirely. VG24/7 reports that Vodafone emailed customers who pre-ordered the phone to say:

“Sony Ericsson have advised us that they will not be able to supply the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play to meet the original launch date of 1 April. Unfortunately, this means there will be a small delay to your order. We are working closely with Sony Ericsson to ensure your phone is delivered as soon as possible and we will be in touch again with specific timescales when we know more.”

Whereas, retailer 3,  said that it is delaying the Xperia Play launch until next week at the earliest as a result of stock issues.

The Smartphone is powered with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and features 4-inch capacitive multi-touch display that supports FWVGA 480×854 pixel resolution, a customized UI aimed at gaming, a latest Adreno GPU, which will provide 60fps gameplay in 3D games, 5MP camera with autofocus which hopefully records 720p HD video by default and has an 8GB microSD card in the box. Other common features are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, and Digital Compass.
