E FUN Nextbook Next6 Android Tablet released; now shipping for $280

Nextbook CO. also released another Android-tablet – Next6, created especially for those who love to read the road, surf web pages, view photos, listen to music and watch movies in HD-quality. The 7″ model, an addition to the company’s Nextbook line, includes built-in Wi-Fi, an e-reader, eBook Store app and the SlideME application manager.

As for the Next 6 specifications, a 6 inch 800 x 480 pixel capacitive touchscreen display makes up the front of the tablet. It has 4 GB of on-board storage, which is further expandable via the Micro SD/MMC Card Slot. The tablet connects to the internet via Wi-Fi (no 3G) and comes pre-loaded with apps such as an e-book Store app and the SlideME application manager. The e-book store opens up to nearly 2 million titles including bestsellers and award winning titles as well as New York Times Bestsellers. The Next 6 itself comes pre-loaded with 25 e-books so you can get started right away.

eBook support for the Next6 is not an area we would worry about though, since the preloaded Powered eBook Store already has nearly a couple of million titles on its virtual shelves, ranging from New York Times Bestsellers to award winners, classics and more.

“Our Nextbook Next6 Android Tablet strikes the perfect balance between functionality, features and value for today’s mobile lifestyle,” stated Jason Liszewski, managing director and vice president of sales for E FUN. “Users are just a light touch or gentle swipe of a finger away from reading their favorite book, browsing the Internet, watching videos or listening to music. The capacitive touch-screen is also easy for both seniors and children use.”

The Next 6 also boasts of an integrated speaker and a g sensor. All in all, the Next 6 does make a strong case for itself in the budget tablet segment. Among the other apps that the Next 6 comes installed with include photo viewer, MP3 player, notepad, calendar, alarm clock, assorted games, and such. Then there are a lot of other third party apps to try.

As with other E FUN Nextbook 2011 models, the Next6 includes an eBook Store app. The preloaded Powered eBook Store offers nearly two million titles, including New York Times Bestsellers, award winners, classics and more. Next6 owners can download their favorite titles from the comfort of their own home. The unit comes with 25 eBooks preloaded. The Next6 also features the SlideME application manager to ease app downloading and purchasing. It hosts nearly 3000 Android applications, some of which may not be listed in similar Android app sites, providing a wide range of selections.
