Gigabyte S1080 Windows 7 Tablet with Optical Drive Dock shown up at Computex 2011; Specs and Price

Gigabyte at Computex has shown up its new Windows 7 Tablet with an Optical drive dock. Th device dubbed Gigabyte S1080 is a 10.1 inch tablet that has a 14.94mm-thick chassis. The usage of Optical drive is recently decreasing though, there will still be consumers in need of the drive along with a tablet.

In terms of specs, the Gigabyte S1080 tablet powered with an Intel Atom N570 processor features 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and a 320GB hard drive (2.5 inches, 5400rpm, SATA) and a 1.3 megapixel webcam.

For ports, there are a USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 port, SD card reader, RJ-45 jack and a VGA output. For connectivity, the Gigabyte S1080 slate features Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and 3.5G modem. The device comes with 4,000mAh battery and if you are not satisfied with it, you have an optional 2.700mAh battery bar that hooks onto the bottom of the tablet.

The Gigabyte S1080 tablet is expected to be released in June with a price tag of around $700.
