Philips GoGear Connect 7 Android Gingerbread Tablet releasing soon

Philips GoGear Connect 7, the 7 inches Android tablet is predictable to be available in June 2011 in China, , running Gingerbread instead of Honeycomb.

According to Chinese sources, posted the pictures and some information about the characteristics of the device model is equipped with a 7-inch touch screen and running the operating system Android 2.3 Gingerbread, over which “imposed” interface Philips. For a tablet for some reason decided to use a “smartphone” version of the OS instead of Android 3.0 Honeycomb, though, it can be justified because Honeycomb more compatible with larger screens.

Judging by the images, the rear sides of the tablet is white, while the front – black with silver inserts. Also at Philips GoGear Connect 7 has a front camera for video calls, a slot for microSD memory card interface and support for USB. While there are no other data on the characteristics of the upcoming device.

GoGear Connect 7 takes a very simple, crisp and clean design, painted with elegant white varnish in the main part just like many Philips phones look like. On the back, there is no other word or frill except for Philip’s logo on the upper left corner. No rear camera is spotted. The three android common touch keys for Home, Back and Menu are located on the right frame area. USB port and micro SD card slot on the right side come as no surprise. Philips GoGear 7 is reported to hit the market in later June without any word on pricing.
