It appears that the HTC Sensation isn’t the only Android Gingerbread smartphone hitting T-Mobile on June 8th. The latest leak reveals that the Samsung Hawk (a.k.a Samsung Exhibit 4G) will be headed to stores on the same day, as well as highlighting some of its key features. June 8 is to T-Mobile as May 26 is to Verizon. Three Android phones, one carrier, all on the same day. What was once referred to as the Samsung Hawk, now the Samsung Exhibit 4G, is set to hit T-Mo shelves on June 8, along with the HTC Sensation 4G and the Samsung Gravity Touch 2.
The Exhibit 4G will come with a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 3 megapixel camera w/flash and a vga front facing camera. With a dealer price set at $325 we hope to see the Exhibit 4G price right around $150 after a $50 mail in rebate or perhaps even a price to move at $99.99 after a $50 mail in rebate. Of course that’s just a guess and we’ll have to wait and see what pricing T-Mobile ultimately decides on but we should know soon enough!
From what we can gather in its FCC filing, the Samsung Exhibit 4G should sport a 1GHz Hummingbird processor under the hood, with Android 2.3 Gingerbread running the show and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. The smartphone will also feature a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a vga front-facing camera. T-Mobile hasn’t released its official pricing yet, but the dealer lists the Exhibit 4G, so start crossing your fingers now for something to the effect of a mail-in rebate.
On a side note, the Samsung Smart has also leaked with the same release date. This is however just a mid-range Android packing a 3.2 inch display, 800MHz processor, 3-megapixel camera with LED flash and Android 2.2 Froyo. It will set you back $225 unlocked (might be free on contract).
