Verizon Motorola Droid X Smartphone Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Release Date confirmed
Verizon Motorola DROID X is one of the most popular Android devices, but up until now DROID X users were stuck with earlier versions of Google’s platform. Fortunately Verizon has finally confirmed the Update for the Smartphone. Verizon announced that Motorola Droid X will get the Android Gingerbread update starting May 27th that is tomorrow.
The Droid X Smartphone with The 4.3-inch display will get a host of new features with Gingerbread including improved copy-paste, a download manager app and new user interface. The update, referred to as 4.5.596.MB810.Verizon.en.US, will take up 112MB of space if your current version is 2.3.340. Verizon has also improved upon the calendar, camera, and e-mail functions. More specifically, the update addresses bugs and missing features on the Exchange Active Sync side of things.
Verizon says that It would take an average 20 to 40 minute for downloading and up to 10 minutes for installing the update. you can initiate the update by searching for the update in your Droid X’s settings. Verizon has a dedicated page to help users walk through the software update if necessary.
