EVO 4G Gingerbread Update 2011 official OTA release date on June 6th
HTC Evo 4G users will finally start receiving a OTA update on June 6th to get a taste of Android Gingerbread. Sprint announced this morning that it will begin rolling out an over-the-air update on June 6 to deliver the latest software release. As usual, the update will come in batches and users will receive a notification on their smartphones to let them know when the update is ready for download.
But users can force check the and download the much-needed update starting today. To force check the update on your HTC EVO 4G, go to Applications > Settings > System Updates > HTC Software Update. You should then get the notification of the software update with version 4.22.651.2 and should take 10-20 minutes to download depending upon the network speed.
