HP TouchPad webOS Tablet Release Date and Price revealed officially; Pre-order begins on June 19
Finally release date and price of most anticipated tablet from HP is official, dubbed HP TouchPad webOS tablet will first be released in US for a starting price of $499. HP has also confirmed that the tablet will come on AT&T with support for the carrier’s data network, but there were no details whether that means 4G or 3G connectivity.
The TouchPad powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU along with 1GB of RAM sports 9.7-inch display, stereo speakers with Beats Audio, instant local and cloud searches with Just Type. The TouchPad also plays nice with other gadgets in the webOS ecosystem like the HP Pre 3 and the HP Veer 4G through its HP Synergy and Touch to Share.
For connectivity the device supports WWi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n with WPA, WPA2, WEP, 802.1X authentication; Bluetooth® wireless technology 2.1 + EDR with A2DP stereo Bluetooth. The device features rechargeable 6300 mAh battery.
You can also have a number of accessories including HP’s Touchstone Charging Dock giving you the possibility to wirelessly juice up your slate, the HP TouchPad Wireless Keyboard and the HP TouchPad Case, all sold separately.
At the beginning, there will be only WiFi-version of the Tablet in the market that will be price at $499 for 16GB version, while it is $599 for a 32GB version. The HP TouchPad’s release date is July 1st and pre-order will begin on June 19 in US and Europe. The tablet will be available at most major retailers including Best Buy, Walmart, Staples, Sam’s Club, Office Depot, and Amazon.com. People from the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany will see the tablet in the market after a few day of US launch while Canada will only see the tablet in mid July.
