Huawei MediaPad 7″ Honeycomb Tablet and Specs revealed; releasing in Q3?
After a short time of rumors and a teaser, the Huawei unveiled its new 7-inch MediaPad, interestingly this new 7 inch tablet is running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but Huawei explains that version 3.2 is basically identical to 3.1 except for the fact that it’s optimized for 7 inch tablets. Since most of the tablets running on Honeycomb in the Market are 10″, a 7 inch tablet with Honeycomb surely makes sense.
The Huawei MediaPad 7 inch tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core chip by Qualcomm and features an IPS screen with 217pixel-per-inch density, 8GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. The tablet also features HSPA+ 14.4Mbps connectivity, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and twin cameras: 5-megapixels on the back, with autofocus and HD video recording, and 1.3-megapixels upfront, for video calls.
MediaPad is capable to handle 1080p full HD videos with ease and the battery will last up to 6hrs runtim. The tablet will be coming with Facebook, Twitter, Let’s Golf and Documents To Go preloaded, and Flash Player 10.3 supported.
Huawei hasn’t mentioned anything regarding to price or availability, but it seems that the MediaPad Honeycomb tablet will be released in Q3 2011 and there won’t be WiFi-only edition.
