Huawei M886 Glory Smartphone unveiled; Specs and Price

When it comes Android Smartphones, consumers mostly looking for one from either of Samsung, HTC or LG  so on with high-end specs and high price tag , signs a contract to get it on low price, but why not one from Huawei with a low price but high-end specs. Huawei and Cricket Wireless are bringing a potentially scorching combination of price and performance to the U.S, dubbed Huawei M886 Android Smartphone with high-end specs but excitingly low price at $299 even without a contract.

The Huawei M886 is powered by 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8655T chip and features 4-inch display with cream of the crop resolution of 480×854 pixels, 8MP camera with auto-focus and flash. The Smartphone is running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread but promises swift update to the upcoming Android Ice Cream Sandwich and what else do you need for such a cheap price on off contract. The Huawei Glory cracked the benchmarks scoring 60fps in the Neocore graphical test and the device has capable 1900mAh battery.

For connectivity the Smartphone features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS  and also features 2GB of memory along with a memory card slot. The device lacks HDMI out, though a Huawei rep told me they were working on a “surprising” media solution

The device is covered with plastice body, according to PCMag, the material feels like “quality plastic,” with an interesting twist as the first white layer is used as base, then covered with a transparent one contributing to a 3D-like effect. The device has 0.38” (9.7mm) thickness. The Smartphone is very faster and Huawei has made some customization over gingerbread, not much though. You’ll be able to rearrange the icons in the app drawer like you can on an iPhone and there’s a custom email widget. The Smartphone is expected to be released late 2011.
