LG Gelato Q (VS700) aka LG Optimus II approved by FCC with Verizon Bands
LG seems to be set to release another Smartphone in the market soon, it seems that this is the same LG Gelato Q aka LG Optimus II leaked early on T-Mobile’s 2011 roadmap and it surfaced in Sprint’s system with a September 11 ship date. Now the Smartphone has been approved by FCC and with model No VS700.
The LG Gelato Q approved by FCC for CDMA/EvDO frequency 850MHz and 1900Mhz which makes it a great candidate for Verizon. At the same time, we know from T-Mobile’s leaked roadmap, of three LG phones coming to T-Mobile in the near future: the LG Maxx, the LG Maxx Q and the LG “Gelato” Optimus II. Since the “Q” at the end of these names usually stands for “QWERTY,” we can assume the LG Maxx Q will probably have one.
When it comes to the OS for this Smartphone, ‘Gelato’ means Italian ice cream. So it wouldn’t be sin to think that the Gelato might be arriving pre-installed with the Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which was officially unveiled at the Google I/O 2011 event.
Anyway, just wait for a little it shouldn’t take longer for further leak with clearer image of this handset, till then stay tuned.
