New Nokia N9 MeeGo Smartphone officially revealed with full Specs

It’s finally announced and revealed with full specs, Nokia N9 the new MeeGo-based Smartphone with alluring design and features was unveiled at the Nokia Connection Event in Singapore. The phone is same one that was leaked yesterday. The first thing to know about this phone is that there are no front buttons. The Nokia N9 is so intuitive that a swipe or gesture on the curved  3.9 inch AMOLED display is all you need to navigate through the MeeGo OS.

The new N9 is the first smartphone running on the Linux-based MeeGo operating system and it’s collaboration by both Nokia and Intel. To leave an app and go back to the home screen, the user swipes from the edge of the screen. The Smartphone’s body is made of polycarbonate material to improve antenna reception and has a one-piece unibody design.

When it comes to the specs, it’s very sleek and elegant, the Smartphone powered by ARM Cortex-A8 OMAP3630 1 Ghz processor with PowerVR SGX530 sports a 3.9″ AMOLED display with 854 x 480 resolusion, an 8-megapixel auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash and capability to shoot videos at at 720p at 30 fp. Touch-to-focus and continuous autofocus come standard, too. The N9 will require a micro SIM, just like the iPhone 4.

The Nokia N9 will be available in black, cyan and magenta with optional internal storage of 16 and 62GB. the phone will also feature NFC capabilities, Bluetooth V2.1, WiFi 802.11n, GPS, accelerometer and digital compass.

When it comes to UI and software side, all the navigation in the UI is done using swipe based gestures. You can just swipe from different sides of the screen to move back and forth between applications or bring forth the list of open applications. The N9  features a new web browser based on Webkit 2 technology and fully support HTML 5 allows you to see rich web applications and offers fast video playback. For time being there is no Adobe Flash support. The UI arranges three home views in a carousel. One is an app to launch and organize your apps. The second shows your social feeds and notifications for calls, texts and calendar events. The device also comes with latest Nokia Maps, Drive, Dolby Digital Plus support that turns any regular stereo audio into personal surround sound on any headphones
