Sprint HTC Evo 4G Smartphone Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Release Date to be June 6th?

I think the first 4G WiMax Smartphone on Sprint’s network surely deserves an update to Android 2.3  Gingerbread and now it seems  that the update is very closer to the Smartphone. The HTC EVO 4G is almost a year old and running on Android 2.2 Froyo. Acording to a leaked document, the Smartphone will get Android 2.3 Gingerbread update starting June 6th that is coming Monday. EVO 4G users can manually pull the Gingerbread update on their phones starting June 3rd that is tomorrow, exciting?!.

The update will bring many bug fixes as well as new features. The EVO 4G will be receiving a download app, a fix for the SMS bug that causes users to text the wrong contacts, battery charging issues, and multiple Gmail accounts not syncing. After the Android 2.2 upgrade, multiple Gmail accounts stopped syncing, a problem that will be rectified with the Gingerbread upgrade.

To upgrade your HTC Evo 4G to Gingerbread manually, go to Menu > Settings >System Updates > HTC Software Updates > Check Now > OK >Yes. Note that the Company hasn’t announced the date for Manual update yet. Anyway We hope you will enjoy your update, and feel free to drop your comment below about this update.
