Sprint HTC Evo Shift 4G and Evo 4G gets OTA Update for 2.3 Gingerbread and Bug fixes; Release Date June 20

According to a leak sourced insider information, two of the Evo branded Smartphones will get OTA software Update starting June 20. About a month back, a leaked copy of a Gingerbread ROM for HTC’s EVO Shift 4G on Sprint was released. Now it is time for Evo Shift 4G to taste the OTA Gingerbread update meanwhile the Evo 4G will get the bug fixes for the recently released Gingerbread update through the OTA update.

HTC Evo 4G has already had bunch of issues and this update will come with fixes to it. Some of the main issues is the ghost voicemail indicator that appears for no reason at all and continues to come back even after deleting all voicemails.Let’s hope this OTA update will completely fix those issues with HTC Evo 4G since it got the Gingerbread.

The HTC Evo Shift 4G is going to taste its Gingerbread update and expects many new features along with this update, according to leaked internal document of Sprint, the update will be available starting June 17,  after the installation, confirm the system software is 2.76.651.4. If you are patient, the OTA update will knock you on June 20th. The  update is expected to bring Swype, a downloads manager, and fixes to several problems especially streaming media.

    Everything about it was looking and running well, until a glitch that has essentially rendered my S and G keys useless arose.  Then having the Sprint lady say that it may cost me $35 to get the problem fixed really pissed me off.  She quickly assured me that she would call the repair store to make sure I didn’t have to pay after I bucked some.
