Lenovo IdeaPad K1 to release in May; Office Depot Begins Shipping

The Lenovo IdeaPad K1 had a long and bumpy road to travel in order to make its US release. The dual-core Honeycomb tablet has been making the rounds for the better portion of the year, finally scoring a pre-order at the beginning of the month. It seems that the plucky 10.1 inch Tegra 2 slate has taken the final step separating itself from the hands of consumers: getting sent out for shipment.

One tipster passed along shipping confirmation from Office Depot that has the device lined up for delivery today — assuming, of course that the recipient is there to answer the door in the eight and a half hour delivery window provided.

Reports are in that Office Depot has begun shipping the slate to customers. For some, the IdeaPad will be arriving on doorsteps as soon as today. Now the real question: how does Lenovo’s latest stack up to the current crop of Honeycomb powerhouses.
