LG to release 2.3 Gingerbread Update for LG Optimus 3D in October in UK
It is very strange to see high-end new Smartphones releasing with old Froyo on board and LG Optimus 3D in Europe is an example for that. Consumers in Europes has been waiting for an update for the device. It seems that UK consumers will be able to taste the Gingerbread sometime in October.
LG has told The Inquirer that the Optimus 3D will be updated to Android 2.3 Gingerbread in October, at least in the UK, but there is no idea when the update will hit throughout the Europe. Update is coming very close to the Anticipated next version of Android named Ice Cream Sandwich release.
For those who are not familiar with specs, LG Optimus 3D is powered by a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP4430 processor with Cortex A9 CPU and PowerVR SGX540 GPU and features 4.3 inch WVGA 3D display that doesn’t require any kind of glasses, 8GB internal memory, dual 5 megapixel rear camera that can shoot 1080p videos at 24fps and 720p videos at 30fps, HDMI out put that lets you share your captured 3D content with 3D TV and MicroSD card slot expandable up to 32GB.
Anyway, Consumers will have to wait at least for further 2 and half months for the update unless LG releases it earlier than announced, so what do you say about this?
