Motorola ATRIX 4G 2.3.4 Gingerbread Update released; brings many Enhancements
After the longtime wait, Motorola has finally started to roll out the Android 2.3.4 Android Gingerbread update for Motorola ATRIX 4G the beast that was released a few months ago with many exciting features. You can download the update from Motorola’s website right now. If you rooted the phone or unlocked the bootloader to download the beta version of the update, you will have to flash back to receive the OTA download, which is v.4.5.91.
The update will bring many improvements for your ATRIX in addition to the Android 2.3.4, One enhancement allows you to aggregate all your photos, your friends’ photos and photo comments from social networking sites like Facebook and Picasa in one place, making it easier to view. Other enhancements include updated audio player application, improved user interface with a simpler home screen design, a dock of icons at the bottom of the screen and the ability to organize applications into groups, location based recommendations from Yelp and Facebook, full 1080p video playback support, faster Webtop browsing with Firefox 4.0, ability to create groups of multiple email recipients, one touch conference call access, enhanced task management tools, enhanced productivity tools and the ability to dismiss notifications one at a time from the notification tray.
Interestingly, now you will be able to sideload apps means you can now transfer apps locally to the device and install them by checking the ‘Unknown sources’ option in the settings menu and there is an enhancement that allows you to dismiss one notification at a time.
