AT&T to release 2.3 Gingerbread Update for Samsung Infuse 4G this Month

Despite Samsung Galaxy S II form factor and the 4G capability, the AT&T Samsung Infuse 4G‘s one of the major disadvantage was that it came with Android 2.2 Froyo on board and consumers must be waiting for its latest build from the Google, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread at least. Now it seems that AT&T is about to release Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the device.

In a response to a user’s question “when the Gingerbread would hit the device”, AT&T said that Gingerbread for the Infuse 4G would be delivered this month. Yet there is no any particular date for the update yet and not sure if it will be released in this month itself or delayed to September. Anyway for now, everything is clear and we can only believe that the device will get the update this month itself.

Samsung Infuse 4G powered by 1.2GHz processor features  4.5-inch, Super AMOLED Plus display,  8 megapixel camera  with 720P HD Video capturing capability, 1.3 mp front-facing camera and  microSD card slot expandable up to 32GB. For connectivity the device has 4G and other usual features.

Note that there are only a few weeks away for the month end, so keep an eye on your device if it knocks you to download the update as OTA. By the way, Amazon is offering the device right now for a price of $124.99, the device’s original price is $199.99 on two year contract.
