Sharp to release RW-T107 7 inch Gingerbread Tablet with NFC Capability in Japan
Sharp has unveiled a new tablet named with NFC capability, dubbed Sharp RW-T107 is a 7 inch Android tablet and will support Japanese FeliCa cards at the start, bu expects additional card support in the near future. You won’t be using your own tablet to pay — instead, retailers will utilize point of sale apps to process transactions, without a customer ever needing to swipe their credit card. Sharp RW-T107 unit will be able to be used in stores to read membership cards, IDs, loyalty cards, and more.
The Sharp RW-T107 is only for Japan at the moment and expects 5,000 units a month starting on the 5th of September. There are no much details regarding to its specs but it looks that it has got headphone jack, a couple of speakers, microUSB port, SIM card slot, and HDMI on board. There is an another tablet to come from Sharp named Sharp Galapagos powered by Honeycomb that was unveiled very recently and expected to hit the market soon.
