Sony NEX-7, NEX-5N, A77 and A65 Cameras unveiled; Specs, Price and expected Release
Most anticipated cameras from Sony have finally been official, Sony today unveiled 4 new cameras to its camera lineup that include early leaked NEX-7, A77, A65 and NEX-5N. Sony’s NEX models’ lenses are interchangeable. The official introduction is for the Alpha A77 and A65 DSLR cameras along with some interchangeable lens NEX cameras including the NEX-5N and NEX-7.
The Sony NEX-7 is claimed to be extra ordinary and it features a 24 Megapixel EXMOR sensor and Users should be able to capture bright images even in dim lighting. The interchangeable lens camera weighs 10.3-ounces. Camera has fast lenses (low f-stop) and high ISO (up to 20000). The Sony NEX-7 is capable to capture 1080p 60 frames per second (FPS) AVCHD movies that can be used to burn Blu-Ray discs. For web based needs there is an MP4 option which records 30 FPS at 1440×1080 or 640×480 movies that makes easy to produce videos for sharing.
“For Sony, the new NEX-7 represents innovation in its purest form,” said Kelly Davis, vice president of digital imaging at Sony Electronics. “Speed and style meet performance and control, creating a shooting experience unlike anything in market today.”
The device also has built-in 1024×768 pixels OLED based viewfinder and on the rear the camera has a 3″ 640×480 display. The display is also where the user will interact with the Tri-Navi touch interface. Sony has priced its new NEX-7 $1350 along with an exclusive black 18-55mm zoom lens or as a body-only for about $1200. The camera will be released in November.
The Sony’s new A77 claims to have the world’s fastest continuous autofocus performance, the new A77 can capture full image resolution of 24MP at 12 frames per second with full phase detection auto focus. The camera also sports 3-way adjustable screen that can tilt and pivots freely. The A65 is also features same Translucent Mirror Technology and can shoot 10fps with a 2-way adjustable screen.
Finally the NEX-5N is the successor of NEX-5 which is the Sony’s previous high-end micro-camera and features a compact body with same principle of having a DSLR sensor. The main change for the NEX-5N from NEX-5 is only understandable with a closer look. The new NEX-5N features 16.1 Megapixels sensor which was 14.2 for previous version, now the successor has high ISO range up to 3200 and an optional electronic viewfinder, based on a 1024×768 OLED display.
Thenew NEX-5n can track objects and it is possible to shoot up to 10 photos per second in burst mode and the metering system (it measures ambient light to tune the settings automatically) now uses 1200 zones. The new NEX-5N is priced at t $699 (body+18-55 lens) and it is much more affordable than the NEX-7. Anyway choice is yours.
