Verizon Motorola XOOM gets OTA Software Update
An update for Motorola ZOOM for Verizon has been up for download, the update HTJ85 is coming as ITA and will bring many improvements to the device. even though the consumers are waiting for 4G LTE upgrade, it doesn’t seem that Verizon will do it earlier than September. The update adds a Screen Scaling Compatibility Mode which will allow you to switch to double pixel mode for certain applications. n this mode, drop-down menus are doubled as are sub-menus for apps. Pixel doubling settings are saved for each app.
The xoom will also get new support for microSD cards with this update and users can use file manager to view all of the images and other files in the microSD card. as well as using a connection to your PC or Mac to write content to your SD card. Once the maintenance update installed on your device, streaming media’s bit rate can be adjusted for improved performance. And a new policy for ExchangeActiveSync will allow you to recover a lost, forgotten or missing password.
You can check for the update manually by going to settings/About Tablet/System Updates, you will be notified when the system update is available and select Install now and installation process will begin. Download and installation should take up to 10 – 15 minutes and software update size is approximately 15.4MB. Check out the source for further details on the update. This maintenance update is offered only to the Verizon version of the tablet, but expected to be available for other WiFi version also.
