2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid debuts; releasing early 2012
Toyota has unveiled its new 2012 Prius in Germany, the new Hybrid comes with minor tweaks to its exterior and interior design, and the introduction of a fresh assortment of multimedia systems. The new Toyota Plug-in Prius is expected to be sold 50,000 of the fuel efficient vehicles globally once it hits the market.
One of the main change for the 2012 Prius is the revised front bumper design with an enlarged lower grille, new clear lens headlamps featuring a revised LED lamp configuration, while Toyota also incorporated daytime running lights in the bumper.
The new Prius comes with Prius Plug-in that Toyota claims the packs can be charged fully in only an hour on a standard AC outlet. That means no expensive charger or associated costs. The car is far from performance oriented with a 0-60 mph time said to be 10.7-seconds and a top speed of 112 mph. The new plug-in tech and battery packs add 110 pounds to the old vehicle weight.
Other changes include the door mirrors that now have a power-folding function, the redesigned tail lamps and fresh alloy wheel options for exterior while In the cabin, Toyota says the sensorial quality of the Prius has been improved through a change of colour scheme from dark grey to black.
The new Prius Plug-in Hybrid is expected to be release early in 2012, unfortunately there is no pricing details of the new 2012 Toyota Prius.
