Amazon Kindle Touch and Touch 3G eReaders unveiled; Specs, Price and Release DateAmazon has launched its new e-Reader named Kindle Touch at the event we reported a few days ago along with the new Kindle Fire Tablet. The eReader comes with Smaller screen than the existing one and uses a new control UI, with the bulk of the right hand side of the display used to move forward through the book, and a strip on the left to move back.

The new touch eReader comes in 2 model one with 3G and one without 3G support and the 3G version is called Kindle Touch 3G. Both come with a new “X-Ray” feature which is used to store sections of titles you’ve read in the ereader’s cache, and allow you to return to them later on. The new eReader is also more compact then the model available now since there is no keyboard on Kindle Touch unlike the current version. The kindle eReader measures 6.8″ x 4.7″ x 0.40″ and weighs 7.8 ounces (220 grams).

You can pre-order the Amazon Kindle Touch eReader right now for starting price of $99, the Touch 3G version will set you back $149 and include free 3G access as with the existing Kindle 3G. The tablet will be released on November 11.
