Audi unveils A8 Hybrid, W12 W12 LWB Limited Edition at the Frankfurt Auto ShowAudi has unveiled its two new version of  A8 large luxury sedan as well as the brand-new 4.0 TFSI, the concepts include an hybrid version named A8 Hybrid and a limited edition named “Audi exclusive concept”. The company also revealed a new the new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that will power, in slightly different configurations, the S6 sedan and Avant, the S7 Sportback and the S8.

When it comes to the first model A8 Hybrid, it relatively gives less power with four-cylinder gasoline engine coupled to a hybrid system. Under the hood it has 2.0-liter TFSI and the electric motor that will provide a output of 245 HP and 480 Nm (345.03 lb-ft) of torque for short periods of time. The A8 Hybrid accelerates to 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 7.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph).

The A8 Hybrid is also able to reach a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph) on electric power alone and runs for 3 km (1.8 miles) with zero emissions at a constant speed of 60 km/h (37 mph), The A8 Hybrid consumes less than 6.4 lt/100 km (36.75 mpg) while its CO2 emissions fall below 148 g/km.

The next model named “Audi exclusive concept” which is a limited edition and will be built only a 50 units. The car is based on the standard W12 LWB version ofAudi’s flagship sedan and sports Poltrona Frau leather in the interior, wood olive ash inlays used liberally throughout the cabin and special “Audi exclusive concept” logos.

Finally the Audi 4.0 ltr twin-turbocharged V8 engine will push maximum output between 420 and 520 HP and its maximum torque reaches up to 650 Nm (479.4 lb-ft). The 4.0 TFSI is very light and compact and features direct injection and two twin-scroll turbochargers inside . The engine also has a cylinder deactivation system as standard which automatically shuts down two cylinders reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions  and re-activate it when it is necessary.

According to Audi, the A8 Hybrid will go on sale in 2012, there are  images of the vehicles after the break, check it out and feel free to comment.
