HTC Amaze 4G aka HTC Ruby Specs, Price, Release date rumors
One of the rumoured handset HTC Amaze 4G (code named Ruby) from the globally reckoned smartphone manufacturer, HTC has again claimed its presence. According to a tipster and Droid Sans, the company is testing a new Android device capable of DC-HSPA+ speeds (in Thailand at least), which means a theoretical possibility of 42Mbps data transfers.
The rumored specs we reported on last month turn out to be spot on. This is a big smartphone featuring a 4.3-inch qHD display with a 960 x 540 resolution. Thankfully, HTC hasn’t skimped on the underlying hardware to take advantage of that screen, settling for a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. There’s also an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, expected to have a dual LED flash on-board too. In terms of software, you’ve got Android 2.3 coupled with HTC Sense 3.5.
According to reports, the HTC Ruby runs on Android 2.3 operating system, with Sense 3.5 UI on top. The device is likely to be available in two different hues – black and white. There’s no official word on the launch or price of the device. Though now that a few details have emerged, we can expect HTC to disclose more about the HTC Ruby.
The Amaze 4G is expected to arrive via T-Mobile, but this unit has no such logo printed on it. This ties in to the less than great experience of using the Amaze 4G at the Thai show, as it must be a dev unit not ready for prime time just yet. However, rumors are hinting for HTC Amaze 4G’s release on October 26th.
