Motorola Electrify US Cellular Release date is in this month; Priced $200
US Cellular has been giving lots of Android love to its subscribers lately, but has limited itself to the mid-range cadre, as seen by the likes of the 1GHz Samsung Mesmerize and the HTC Merge. With the announcement of the Motorola Electrify, things have changed for the better, with dual-core CPUs making their debut on the regional network’s lineup. Users are being tempted with seamless multi-tasking courtesy of a sharp display, a camera, a webcam, a dedicated media kickstand and a stack of apps on the phone.
Motorola Mobility announces via a press release the upcoming new smartphone that will arrive in the US market courtesy of US Cellular. It is worth noting that it is not a super new phone, but actually just a re-branded Motorola Photon 4G of Sprint Wireless. The handset is fitted with a 4.3” qHD touchscreen as well as an HDMI output port and full Mirror Mode for HDTV connectivity. Functionality and productivity should get a leg up with Motorola’s webtop application which allows users to dock the handset in a compatible accessory and view entertainment or work away on a larger screen.
“The Electrify is more than a ‘smart’ phone,” expressed Edward Perez, VP of sales and marketing operations, U.S. Cellular. “Its multi-tasking capabilities make it the perfect personal assistant for customers who depend on their smartphone to meet the ever-changing needs of their busy lifestyles. Our commitment to providing a variety of devices that enhance customers’ lives is one of the reasons consumers who switch to U.S. Cellular join the happiest customers in wireless.”
The Motorola Electrify, like its twin Photon 4G, sports 4.3-inch qHD screen or Quarter High Definition, so the images should be crisper compared to other devices that have lower resolution. The Electrify can also shoot HD videos and photos with the 8-megapixel main camera, and can also initiate or receive video calls, or work like your mirror because the device is equipped with a front-facing camera.
The US Cellular Motorola Electrify includes 16GB of on onboard storage, and no words yet from the wireless carrier if they will include an SD card as freebie. The Motorola ELECTRIFY will be available for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate, and bundled with a contract agreement.
