ASUS Transformer 2 Tablet to be priced at $499; no Price Drop on Eee Pad Transformer
Since many companies started to introduce new tablets with new features, tablet market has been tight with competition and many companies have already started to reduce the tablet price tag gradually, but it seems that ASUS is more confident about its tablet and it has no intention to reduce the price of its first flagship Honeycomb tablet Eee Pad Transformer, even while they have an intention to bring its successor touted to be Transformer 2.
We have already seen some price drops and Amazon even introduced its cheap tablet named Kindle Fire for just $199. But of course it has nothing to compare with big Honeycomb tablet though. Best Buy has dropped the price of HTC Flyer tablet to $299.99.But nothing has caused ASUS to cut the price of its Honeycomb tablet. Asustek CEO, Jerry Shen, firmly commented that the company has no intentions on cutting the price of its existing Eee Pad Transformer tablet. Even at its current pricing, it’s undeniably hard to not consider it over others – mainly due to its competitive pricing and combinational form factor and features.
ASUS is reportedly planning its successor Transformer 2 and should be priced almost at $499. It also seems that ASUS believes that Kindle’s Fire tablet will only account for 20% to 30% of the tablet PC shipments and it should be the reason ASUS cling on its stand on pricing of its Transformer tablet. They believe that 10 inch model is still the preferred one in the market.
ASUS hs already proved its success with its Transformer and let’s hop next one will also keep something different from the crowd out there and the pricing should be considered to be reasonable by many. What do you think?
