AT&T Galaxy S II Skyrocket and HTC Vivid with 4G LTE official; Specs, Price and Release Date

Almost a month ago, the AT&T released its 4G LTE network and we were waiting for its first 4G LTE Smartphone to be announced, and finally it is here. AT&T today announced two new Android devices which are basically LTE powered. The devices include HTC Vivid that was previously known as HTC Holiday and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. Both are powerful Smartphones with high-end specs under the hood.

The HTC Vivd is powered by dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm chipset and sports 4.5″ display with qHD 540×960 pixels, an 8-megapixel f2.2 28mm wide angle camera which is capable of shooting videos at 1080p resolution,  a 2-megapixel and 16GB of internal storage.

Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is LTE version of the Galaxy S II as its name suggests, the device powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor features 4.5-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display(800×480 pixels), 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash,  2-megapixel front-facing camera and 16GB of the on board storage with microSD card slot that support an additional 32 GB. The device is running on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread.

The release of these two Android devices will surely make competition a little tight for Verizon, so consumers can expect more offers and less price on high end LTE devices on these two networks as well as cheap data plans.

Both devices’ release date is November 6th with store and online availability, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is priced at $249.99  while the HTC Vivid at $199.99 and certainly you need to sign a two year contract with AT&T. Data plan starts at $15 per month which gives you 200MB a month and  Data Pro – 2GB for $25 a month, each additional GB will cost you $10. The carrier said that it’s expanding its LTE network to Boston, Washington DC, Baltimore and Athens GA, effective November 6th as well.
