Motorola XOOM Family Edition Tablet announced; Specs, Price and Release DateMotorola has finally announced its family edition of XOOM tablet which was  leaked last week and according to the company, the company is partnering with Best Buy to avail customized XOOM to market. The tabet will be available starting this Sunday, October 16th and there is significant savings from current WiFi version.

Certainly you will not get all features of the WiFi model for that price and there  is a little sacrifice. When it comes to specs, this tablet features 1GHz dual-core Tegra processor, 1GB of memory, and 10-inch display. The device only has 16GNB of storage and running on a little outdated Honeycomb 3.1 OS. There isn’t a version with a cellular connection and there probably won’t be.

The tablet also include a couple of popular games, like Asphalt 6 and Sim City Deluxe. The company says it’s included “over $40 worth of applications that may include Kid Zone by Zoodles and a selection of apps from the Motorola MotoPack, as well as the ever-popular QuickOffice HD. Other features iis Imode which lets parents l0ck the home button, to block kids from accessing internet.

The tablet will go on sale for a price of $379 and will be exclusive at Best Buy. The device will be released on October 16 as mentioned above.
