Samsung Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich live Shots spotted; Nexus Prime Event cancelled

It seems that there has been leak of the first Samsung Nexus Prime live shot, the device that has been on rumor and anticipation with an expected debut date of  October 11th at the Samsung event. Samsung first released a teaser video for the event with promise of something BIG coming and today we have the image that seems to be true.

The above image shows not only the Nexus Prime but also some of the first screen shots of Android Ice Cream  Sandwich which is bridge between Honeycomb and Android 2.3 Gingerbread, so it is coming for both tablet and Smartphone. It seems that   the Nexus Prime will be the first device to feature the Ice Cream Sandwich.

From the image it looks a lot like current Nexus S, but surely there are minor difference such as the positioning of the proximity and display brightness sensors on the top, which are different from those on the Nexus S. Look at the capacitive button which has been replaced by on screen buttons.  The device also seems to be slimmer than the current version.

We have also got some new information regarding to the specs  which contradicts the claim of BGR that we reported yesterday and it says that there will be an 8MP camera on board but not 5MP as BGR reported yesterday, this time the claim comes from GSM  arena, and seems to to e true. The BGR anmd GSM arena’s specs sheet for the Nexus Prime is below.

There is also a report that the Samsung has postponed the event and below is the official statement regarding to the postpone.

“Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced”.

We have no idea why Google and Samsung have decided to push the debut to some other day. Anyway, let’s be patient till the official announcement and we are looking forward to hearing new date for the debut if the company has postponed the event.
