Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR officially revealed with Specs, Release and price; Pre-order on October 27
Motorola Droid RAZR is no more a secret, the device has been leaked several times before finally gone official with its might and slimmest form factor. The device will be exclusive from Verizon and seems that the device is the slimmest Smartphone yet, at just 7.1mm.
Even though the device seems to be successor of the Motorola RAZR, only thing that share with the old version is its name. The Droid RAZR is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor and packs a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, covered with Gorilla Glass display on a very slim and lightweight Kevlar-infused body, 1GB of RAM and 1800mAh battery that is promised to last 12.5 hours of talk time as well as 8.9 hours of video playback.
One of the most attractive part of the device is the materials that is used to cover up the hardware and the stunning design itself. The Droid RAZR is coming with special, water resistant stuff, which will protect the internals of the DROID RAZR, so don’t worry of leaving it in the water accidentally.
Other features include 8MP 1080p video recording snapper on the rear side, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and running on Android 2.3.5 OS. The new Smartphone will also feature a brand new app called MotoCast, which will allow you to stream or download your pictures, audio and more from your PC to your DROID RAZR. You also have another app called Smart Actions app that helps you manage your device’s battery life by creating various power-saving rules.
For connectivity the device is coming with mighty LTE support, and will let you experience faster browsing and other activities on internet with this slimmest Android device. The device also offers Standard Micro USB and HDMI ports.
Motorola has also unveiled a bunch of accessories for the device that include a standard assortment of desktop and vehicle docks and new Lapdock 500. The new lapdock is revised model of Lapdock 100 with with a larger 14″ screen and a more spacious keyboard and VGA out. The lapdock 500 will also work with all dock enabled phones from Motorola using the micro hdmi and USB ports on bottom. The device will also be offered optional two desktop docks, the HD Station and HD Dock that supports Webtop .
Other typical accessories include Elite Silver Bluetooth headset, a travel charger and an external battery pack to supplement the DROID RAZR’s non-removable 1800 mAh battery.
According to the Motorola, the new Verizon Motorola Droid RAZR will be on pre-order on October 27 with all the accespries available and will be released in November with price tag of $299 via Verizon. You will have to sign a two year contract with the company for the device. It’s reported that the actual release date for the device is November 10th.
