ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime with Tegra 3 Processor official; Specs and PriceToday is great day for those who have been waiting for the anticipated quad-core tablet from ASUS. ASUS has finally made its Eee Pad Transformer Prime official that is the first Android table in the world to feature Quad-core Tegra 3 Processor. The Transformer Prime will be an ultimate device on the range of consumer tablet in the market. Interestingly the device is coming with whopping battery life up to 12 hours.

The device was already leaked many times, but this is first time we hear an official announcement with complete specs under tho hood. The announcement is also a first announcement of the Tegra 3 Processor that is expected to power many upcoming devices in the future. The Tegra 3 Processor was previously known as Kal-El Project and it was just a codename for the Tegra 3 Processor.

The ASUS Transformer Prime has very neat and sleek design with shiny body and will be available in two color options: Amethyst Gray or Champagne Gold. Under the hood, the device is powered by 1.3GHz  Tegra 3 Processor and  1GB of RAM. The tablet features a 10.1″ Super IPS+ display at 1280 x 800 resolution, an 8 megapixel camera with a single LED flash on the rear and a 1.2 front for video chat all wrapped in a brushed aluminum finish. The tablet will be coming in 21 flavors of storage options that include 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.The tablet also features  3.5mm combo audio jack, micro-SD and micro-HDMI port. The camera iscapable of capturing 1080p video.

The device is extremely thin at  just 8.3mm thin (0.33″) and weighs in at a mere 586g (1.29lbs).  With the optional keyboard dock, the Transformer Prime will actually have a run-time of around 18 hours.The dock will also feature an extra ull-sized USB port and SD card slot.

Even though the device was first rumored to feature Ice Cream Sandwich, lately it was confirmed that the device would be running on 3.2 Honeycomb and ICS will coming as update for the device later. With all the features under the hood, the Transformer Prime challenges other tablets out there, ASUS is in real confidence with its new tablet and the company had said that it doesn’t have any plan to cut the price of original Transformer yet.

The new Transformer Prime is coming with price tag of $499 for 32GB version and $599 for 64GB. You will have to pay an extra $149 if you want mobile Keyboard dock. Unfortunately the release date for the Prime is yet to be revealed.
