Motorola to release XOOM 2 and XOOM Media Edition Tablets in UK first; Specs revealed

Two days ago first flyer with price detail of the upcoming XOOM 2 Media Edition was leaked and it didn’t take much long time to be official. Motorola has eventually unveiled its new XOOM ranges that include 10.1″ XOOM 2 and an 8.2″ addition to its range named XOOM 2 Media Edition.  Both tablets were leaked many times and the time has come for both to break the cover officially. Even though first one didn’t make much success in the market, Motor0la is confident and these two new tablet are result of it.

The new XOOM 2 tablet with 10.1 inch display has been reinforced with  Corning Gorilla Glass and Motorola’s own splash-resistant coating for better protectio. Under the hood the device is powered with same dual-core processor at 1.2GHz and sports 1GB of RAM,  a 5MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP shooter up front and  16GB of internal memory. The device is slim at 0.35” (8.8mm) thickness and has beefed up battery that will offer around 10 hours of life.On the other hand, the XOOM media Edition is 8.2 inch version but coimes with almost same specs that include splash-resilient coating and boasts 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles and measures 139 mm x 216 mm x 8.99 mm and 386g. There’ll be a Work and Play kit, with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse along with a desk dock, as well as a Motorola Stylus.

It is expected ti hit the UK first as WiFi version and will be sold at Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Dixons, PC World and Currys  in mid-November. Motorola hasn’t revealed pricing details but will be announced soon. According to recently leaked flyer, the Media Edition tablet is expected to be sold for €399.90 in Ireland. Some consumers may not be satisfied with this one since the tablet runs on Honeycomb, but we expect and update for the device in the future for 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
