Toyota Aqua compact Hybrid Vehicle debuted in Japan
Car makers are gradually but surely shifting to the Hybrid models and when it comes the Toyota, the Hybrid vehicle from the company has been the Prius but now the Company has introduced a new Hybrid vehicle named Aqua in Japan and seem to be competing with the Honda’s affordable Insight hybrid vehicle.
Toyota claims that the new Aqua is the smallest hybrid available in the market and received an order of 60,000 before the launch. The Aqua boasts 35.4km per litter that is 2.8km more than the Prius.
According to the Toyota, the company will be rolling out the vehicle globally over 50 countries including USA starting 2012. When it comes to the market, the Aqua will be known as Prius C.In Europe the company will introduce a different model based on the Yaris compact with same hybrid system of the Aqua.
In Japan the vehicle has already gone sale and the price has been set at ¥1.69 million ( $22,000), but when it comes to global market we can’t expect the vehicle for the price and may vary according to countries.
