ASUS Transformer Prime Users complains GPS IssueAsus Transformer Prime has got some GPS issue, users who got the device recently complained about the issue. The The first Tegra 3 powered tablet is having problem with GPS signal lock and tracking. It seems that the consumers have contacted the company for the issue and the company has addressed it by issuing an official response.

Asus says that since the device is designed with metalic uni-body, the GPS performance may be poorer. The company’s official response is as follows

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting ASUS Customer Service.
The ASUS Transformer Prime is made from a metallic unibody design, so the material may affect the performance of the GPS when receiving signals from satellites.
Please note that this product is not a professional GPS device and signal performance can be easily influenced by factors including, but not limited to: weather, buildings and your surrounding environment.
Please understand there are some limitations when using the GPS function.

Some scenarios you may encounter when experiencing weak GPS performance:
1. Using the GPS while traveling in a car: The roof of a car, the insulation, bridges and other factors can affect signal reception.
2. High density areas with large buildings and structures that can block line of sight communication with GPS satellites.

Here users of the tablet have only got some suggestions and justification for the poor performance of the GPS other than a fix,  Asus reps have also suggested locking the position while you are in a WiFi range. In XDA there has been a whole thread regarding to the problem and poll shows that more than 60% users have the issue. It is not sure there will be a fix from the company for the problem.
