Motorola to release Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich Update for More Smartphones this yearWhen it comes to Android Smartphone users, one of the major update most of the users now expect is Ice Cream Sandwich, while Motorola has already announced the update for many latest Android Smartphones including DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX and DROID 4, many of the Motorola’s old model users might be eager to know whether they get the update, Yes you are lucky that  finally the Motorola has added many of those Smartphones to the guaranteed Ice Cream Sandwich update list.

The new list includes several Smartphones apart from the latest devices,  in the old models eligible for the update include  the Motorola Photon 4G, Atrix 4G, Atrix 2, and the Electrify and all of them will get the update a OTA , even though Motorola hasn’t announced any timeline for any of these Smartphones, the update is expected to be released sometime in this year.

Early there was report that the Motorola devices would get the update in 4 to 6 months, but now it seems tat the many of the Verizon’s phones are still on evaluation. The 4 to 6 month period was announced back in December by the Motorola, now it seems that the update may be pushed back and might be released in Q2 or Q3.

Motorola has already taken precaution by delivering a comment of its difficulty to adapt the ICS  to its hardware other than the reference SoC found in the Galaxy Nexus. Anyway, it shows that Motorola is having some problem with its update process and getting the ICS prepared for its early released Smartphones.

Meanwhile Motorola is reportedly to launch an Android ICS Smartphone at MWC and it seems that the update for the other Smartphone likely to be after the release of this new  Smartphone in this year. The hope for the quick update is Google’s acquisition of the Motorola mobility, let’ see if it causes quicker update for the Smartphones.
