Nokia 808 PureView with 41MP Sensor official; Specs, expected Price and hands-on

Nokia 808 PureView with 41MP Sensor official; Specs, expected Price and hands-onAs expected the Nokia has unveiled its N8 successor the Nokia PureView 808, when we say that Nokia successor you must have guessed it is a camera centric Smartphone, but how much MP camera you would expect for a Smartphone, 12, 14 or 16 , is really odd that the Nokia integrated a 41MP camera with the Nokia PureView 808, but certainly it is really a big leap in the camera centric Smartphones.

Never think a big change for the Nokia ‘s typical Smartphones in design for the Nokia 808 as it has 41 MP camera, it is a usual design but certainly it is not bad thing is it? no. The unfortunately, that this Smartphone is one of the last device to feature Symbian on board, Nokia has already announced that it would stop the Symbian in the near future.

when it comes to Specs, the Nokia 808 PureView is powered by a single-core 1.3 GHz processor along with 512 MB of RAM  and packs 4″ AMOLED unit of nHD (640 x 360) resolution at 16:9 ratio covered with  curved Gorilla Glass. The Smartphone has 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD slot.

For connectivity, The Nokia 808 features Bluetooth 3.0,  Wi-Fi, USB on the go and NFC. Nowadays Nokia has managed to integrate the NFC with almost new Smartphones.

The Nokia 808 may not look a as premium as the Nokia n8 at first glance even though the device is pretty light besides the hump on the rear side where the camera sits. The Nokia 808 has curvy corner unlike Nokia N8, but over all the device doesn’t look bad. When it comes to OS, the device will be running on Symbian Belle right out of the box, It  seems that the Nokia has done pretty good enhancements for a better experience, UI looks good and overall the Software seems to run great.

As camera centric Smartphone, the Nokia has made an enhancements for Camera applications and made it easy to access options, sits on the left side of the display and only taking a few space for that. The Nokia 808 PureView 41MP camera has Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and a LED one working as a video light. The Nokia 808 is actually capable of capturing  3 MP, 5 MP, 8 MP, 38 MP at 4:3 aspect ratio and 2 MP, 5 MP , 8 MP, 34 MP at 16:9. The default resolution the camera provides is 5MP  at  16:9 aspect ratio. Interestingly you can zoom in without losing much quality of the images or videos you capture. The Nokia 808 PureView  can capture videos at  FullHD 1080p at 30 fps  while there is also  720p@30fps. The videos captured by the Nokia 808 is H264 encoded and supports stereo sound. The image sensor will let you 4x zoom in 1080p and 6x zoom in 720p mode. And don’t worry about the size of the image you get, Nokia has promised 808 PureView is doing a lot to compress the pics so a giant 38MP image, should only take 12MB. but anyway hope it won’t at the cost of the quality.

Certainly it is quite big jump on the camera centric Smartphone after the Nokia N8 and let’s hope it will make huge success in the market. Thinking of buying the Nokia 808 PureView?, then the Smartphone is expected to be released in May with a price tag around  $600 (EUR 450).
