Gigabyte to release Gigabyte U2442N and U2442V ultrabooks; Specs revealed
Both Gigabyte U2442N and U2442V are 14-inch models that will be offered with optional Core i5 or i7 standard voltage and ULV (ultra-low voltage) versions respectively and features 14-inch 1600 x 900 LED-backlit displays and NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 2GB graphics along with either SSD or HDD storage. The Gigabyte promises a longer lasting batter but didn’t mention how long it will keep the juice at a charge.
For storage you have optional SSD or up to 750GB HDD and connectivity include dual-antenna WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and – optionally – a Thunderbolt port for faster transfer of your files. Interestingly, the keyboards for the both Ultrabook are backlit that will make sure easier typing even in the darkness. The Gigabyte U2442N and U2442V Ultrabooks measures 18.5 and 20.5mm thick and scales under 1.49kg.
If you have already thought of getting one of these models, you will have to wait till Q2 2012 that is when it is expected to hit in US, unfortunately no particular date or pricing are revealed by the company.
