Nokia reportedly to launch the Nokia Windows 8 Tablet in Q4 2012
Recently we have reported about a Nokia Lumia Windows 8 COFFEE Tab that looks like huge Lumia phone with same design but a 9.7″ display on board and now it seems that the tablet is scheduled for the Q4 2012 according to tip DigTimes. The Nokia is looking forward to expand its portfolio beyond Smartphones, it’s good move.
The launch info was tipped to DigiTime by their source including component suppliers and the Nokia seems to catch up with Android devices using its rival Windows 8 that will make the Microsoft and Nokia relationship further stronger. Nokia already acts an important role in the Smartphone market by releasing a quite exciting Smartphones with Windows Phone on board.
When it comes to the specs. according to earlier rumors, the Nokia tablet is expected to features 1.4GHz CPU, 9.7” AMOLED ClearBlack display with a resolution of 1280×800, 512MB RAM, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front facing camera. The tablet is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon S4 “Krait” chipset.
According to DigiTime, partnering with Compal, the Nokia may ship 200,000 units with its first batch and Nokia should be expecting a change in performance of Windows powered slates in the market with new Windows 8 more touch-friendly OS and to compete with the Android and iOS . The Windows 7 tablet hasn’t always been nice option for consumers and struggled a lot to compete with Android and iOS tablets.
It is reported that the Nokia’s venture into the tablet PC with windows on ARM (WoA) will give Microsoft additional strength to compete with iOS and Android in the market. With the Nokia’s arrival, the tablet market will meet an intense competition and hope it will end up in a price drop benefiting consumers.
