DRS ARMOR X7et, X12kb Windows 7 and X7ad Android rugged Tablets; Specs revealedDRS Technologies has announced new rugged tablet PCs  on its ARMOR lineup, one with Windows 7 and the other with Android 3.2. The highlight of this tablets is that even though it is with rugged features, unlike most of the rugged tablet out there, it is not bulkier, but rather lightweight with neat look and design features. The tablets are dubbed ARMOR X7et and  ARMOR X7ad.

The ARMOR X7et is Widows loaded device while the  ARMOR X7ad is Android powered tablet. Both tablets are 7″ devices and come with multi-touch screen.

The ARMOR X7et Windows tablet is powered by  an Intel Atom  Z670 processor and runs on Windows 7 professional while its Android counterpart, the ARMOR X7ad is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2, 1.0Ghz dual core processor  and runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and both features a 7″ outdoor-readable multi-touch screen display.

The both tablets are coming with the MIL-STD 810G certification  for its ability to withstand extreme temperature, vibration, shock and four-foot drops  and also have an IP65 rating for ingress protection against dust and low pressure jets of water.   ARMOR™ X7et
Windows 7 tablet weighs under 1.5 lbs  and has a battery of lasting up to six hours while the ARMOR X7ad Android slate  scales  1.3 lbs and features a battery lasting up to 8 hours.

Additionally, the DRS nos also offers a new convertible tablet named ARMOR X12kb with the same MIL-STD-810G certificate and comes powered by more powerful  Intel Core™ i5-560UMCPU processor  and features a 12.1″ sunlight-readable swivel touch-screen, one-click stealth mode that disables light and sound and running on Windows 7 Professional. The convertible tablet weighs 5.5 lbs with a battery lasting up to eight hours and has a spill proof keyboard and touchpad.

Three of the new ARMOR tablets are coming with usual connectivity options like Gobi Wireless Broadband, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi,  integrated GPS, and Bluetooth. Pricing and the release date for the three of the tablet are yet  to be announced.
