DRS ARMOR X7et, X12kb Windows 7 and X7ad Android rugged Tablets; Specs revealed
The ARMOR X7et is Widows loaded device while the ARMOR X7ad is Android powered tablet. Both tablets are 7″ devices and come with multi-touch screen.
The ARMOR X7et Windows tablet is powered by an Intel Atom Z670 processor and runs on Windows 7 professional while its Android counterpart, the ARMOR X7ad is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2, 1.0Ghz dual core processor and runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS and both features a 7″ outdoor-readable multi-touch screen display.
The both tablets are coming with the MIL-STD 810G certification for its ability to withstand extreme temperature, vibration, shock and four-foot drops and also have an IP65 rating for ingress protection against dust and low pressure jets of water. ARMOR
Windows 7 tablet weighs under 1.5 lbs and has a battery of lasting up to six hours while the ARMOR X7ad Android slate scales 1.3 lbs and features a battery lasting up to 8 hours.
Additionally, the DRS nos also offers a new convertible tablet named ARMOR X12kb with the same MIL-STD-810G certificate and comes powered by more powerful Intel Core
Three of the new ARMOR tablets are coming with usual connectivity options like Gobi Wireless Broadband, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, integrated GPS, and Bluetooth. Pricing and the release date for the three of the tablet are yet to be announced.
