Leica to release M Monochrom Camera, shoots Black and White; Price and Specs
In the world of colors, we could hardly find people much interested in monochrome photos but it hasn’t stopped Leica from making a camera which only captures photos in black and white and even most photograph enthusiast would find trouble to back this device i guess. The new Leica’s camera dubbed Leica M Monochrom officially announced and will be released in July but don’t expect it to be cheaper.
It is pretty simple, Leica created the device without a color filter array that will allow the device to capture excellent black and white photos. The Leica Monochrom doesn’t come with Lens but add on a brand new Summicron 50mm f2.0 prime lens for a mere $7,195. The device has a 18-megapixel full-frame sensor and an ISO rate peaking at 10,000. Leica M monochrome buyers will be offered with software packages; Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, as a professional workflow solution and leading black-and-white image processing software Silver Efex Pro.
Anyway, there will still be some who are willing to blow their money for this M Monochrome camera and the camera is priced at $7,950. There will be 300 limited edition of $50,000 Hermès Série Limiteé Jean-Louis Dumas M9-P and $25,000 version labeled Hermès and both are 18-megapixel Leica M9-P variants.
