Sony to release Xperia Acro S and Xperia go aka Advance; Specs revealed
Sony has added two additions to its portfolio, the new devices are on its Xperia lineup but with some rugged-like features as well as waterproof. The new Smartphones are dubbed Xperia acro S and Xperia go and both are waterproof and have increased protection like scratch-proof mineral glass on top of the displays. The Xperia acro S has more robust features while the Xperia go aka Advance is mid-range Android device.

Sony Xperia Acro S is powered by 1.5Ghz dual core Snapdragon chipset and boasts a 4.3” HD Reality display with 720p resolution,1 GB of RAM, a 12MP Exmor R sensor with a f/2.4 aperture and shoots 1080p FullHD video and 1.3MP front-facing camera capable of 72p video.
The Xperia Acro S has a 16BG of internal storage and also features location services by GPS augmented with support for the GLONASS satellite positioning system, an HDMI port and NFC support. The Sony Xperia Acro S is running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The device is reportedly covered by shatter-proof, scratch resistant glass as well as wet finger tracking technology as on Xperia Active. Moreover, the device has IP57 rating for its dust and water resistance and good for short immersion up to 30 min in water. The Sony Xperia Acro S will be available in black, white and pink colors.
The Xperia go is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and features a 3.5” Reality display of 480 x 320 resolution, 512MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, a 5MP camera capable of 720p video.
The Smartphone is coming with same protection against water as Xperia Acro but more dust-proof and has an IP67 rating. The Sony Xperia go is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but expected to be upgradeable to Android 4.0 ICS. The Sone Xperia go will be available in black, white and yellow colors.
Both Xperia Acro S and Xperia go aka Advance will be released in Q3 2012, but pricing and release date are yet to be announced.
