HTC One S releases in Taiwan with Snapdragon S3

HTC has released  HTC One S  in the Taiwan, the device  is coming with different processor  from the worldwide model. HTC has replaced the 1.5Ghz MSM8960 Snapdragon S4  with the a dual-core overclocked 1.7GHz MSM8260 Snapdragon S3 processor. It seem due to the supply shortage of the processor.

According to a benchmark run by ePrice, the pone won’t have much difference in performance and is roughly same as the S4 device, even though some questions about the battery life and the efficiency are still a question. While the S4 Chjpset is built on 28nm process while the S3 chip uses 45nm.

HTC hasn’t said anything on the change and still listed as dual-core” CPU in specifications, but claims that the users should see the same overall experience.  The Phone is priced at  $17,900 TWD (~$598)  even with the change under the hood and  hard to believe that the consumers will be pleased.
